Union Jack decals, skins, covers, etc...
I am now looking for a way to get the union jack onto my mini. Anyone wanna share their favourites? I found this tonight: http://www.ocoop.com/proddetail.asp?prod=SD%2DZIP&cat=46 This is not my final decision; I also like the union jack door cards. Although I have not decided, I know that I will choose only ONE, so that I don't overdo it.
So... uh... God save the Queen... Go minis... :D

No time to get it done properly. Stuck a flag out the rear side window... LOL.

Check Out My Mini!
Hi I'm Joe I'm 18 and this is my Mini, Jack! I've been working on him for almost two years and now that I've just passed my driving test I can finally drive him properly!! ; ) He's a 998cc 1989 Mini City E in Flame Red and was almost standard when I got him (except for the white roof and cooper stripes, a few chrome accessories, and some dodgy Metro alloys) but I soon sorted him out. Over the years I added the Union Jack roof decal, Corbeau bucket seats, chrome arches, wipers boot light and hinges, Black 12" revolutions with polished rim, meshed grille with red anodised air scoop, homemade dashboard housing Kenwood CD/MP3 player, pair of 10cm Sony Xplod speakers, TIM Tachometer, Voltmeter and Ammeter, and digital clock. I've also got a pair of Kenwood 6.25" speakers on the rear parcel shelf and a 12" Mutant Subwoofer powered by a Mutant amplifier mounted on perspex in the boot. I've resprayed the doorcards and instrument box and added a Mountney Steering wheel, alloy gear knob with Union Jack emblem, and dozens of other Union Jack stickers and emblems in and around the car (there's 20 in all!). I'm really proud of my little motor and I'd just thought I'd share it with you. Thanks for reading (especially if you read it all!) and maybe even telling me how great you think it is! Cheers Joe!

MY FIRST EVER MINI AND FIRST CAR
Hi Ben
I'm not sure what exhuast my mini has but its not in bad condition so luckly it won't need replacing, my dad says it must have been recently changed before we brought it. Not sure how much a battery is in halfords but the place in manston sell them from around £30 and they should last a few years, so by the time my mini is ready i will probs buy a new one, the current one is ok and we can use it to test the mini but when i want to drive it full time i will get a new one. I cant wait to drive my mini round those great corners and bends that our country roads have. Hopefully mini world will have some great stuff in it this month, will post a thread to let you know what i think. Told my dad about the idea of the white roof and black union jack he says its not original but agrees it will deffiently give her character and be unique. I think that you have to give your mini your own personal style what about you.
No work and last day off col 2morrow before weekend so will be able to do so prep of mini ready for my dad to work on her over the weekend. When i tell people that i help my dad with working on her they always say "what you actually help" it's like they can't believe i get my hands dirty, know how to change are tyre, and know where things are and their names. Neway i enjoy being invloved and a bit of grease never hurt ne1. What are you're plans for the next few days?

The target style looks good i've seen it on only a couple of mini's, and the transfer for sale on ebay a few times and it weren't that expensive. I'm not quite sure where to get those covers from but have u ad a look on mini sport.co.uk they are pretty good. Do you know ne where which sells the black union jack transfer?
Good luck with the driving. Will be buying miniworld and mini magazine on saturday, they always have some great ideas for your mini and great stories of fellow mini owners and fans. So am looking forward to let. Plus my dad has agreed to doing some work on her but the nextdoor neighbour is unable to help this weekend but im sure my dad will do a great job, give him chance to practice those new welding skills.
Do you know a great website to buy interior stuff and acessoreis for the mini?

My first Mini
Hi there I'm new to this, been a Mini enthusiast since I was 13 - now I'm 21 I finally bought one! I'd never be allowed one as my main car (safety, dad!) so having bought a safe modern car in the shape of an '04 Fiesta earlier this year I thought I'd get away with it as my fun car!
My Mini Mayfair was an eBay find (our 3rd car off eBay) and I love him dearly. We called him Minty (for lack of a more inventive name, and inability to make anything out of the number plate, better name suggestions welcome) and spent 3 days trying to find out what colour he is (needs a few touch-ups) only to find it's a colour they only used for one year so hard to find. Doh!
He seems remarkably un-rusty for a 20year old car, hoping to keep him dry over winter and make him prettier when the weather's nice. He goes and stops which is more than many! He didn't rev very well (as we found out whilst driving him 20miles up the A41) but sorting the timing and points seems to have fixed that and he goes like a dream now (well, ish)!
I've luckily found a pretty original one and intend to keep him that way, was going to paint the roof white and put a union jack on it but don't think I even want to do that now! Keep him original and beautiful!
Expect to see a few posts from me in the near future asking stupid questions
Lisa

hi
so far iv had 12 hours of driving lessons and my test has just been booked for about 5 weeks time so im going to have about another ten hours, there is a long waiting list for the practical test so my instructor has booked it now, iv done all of my reversing and manuvers i just need to refine them.
my insurance was £1700 which is a joke, its got a 1.3 engine but that doesn't make that much difference over a 998 its basically because im a lad who's only just seventeen and they think im going to rag my mini about like a boy racer!
the good thing with a mini is that most of the extras which have been added to mine are mostly genuine parts so i didn't bother telling them about alloys etc. but i will tell them if i make any engine mods because i want to get a K&N air filter.
if your thinking about changing the colour of the car you could stick with the black but have a white roof to go for the cooper look? but i suppose a lot of people have this and i think every mini should be different to keep its charecter.
you could have a black union jack put over a white roof?

Hi
im gonna stick to the black but i like the idea of white roof with a black union jack. That would look really good and unique. Neway im along way off from the respray yet.
Wow that is alot for your insurance we were quoted about £900 for me and if i went on my dads it would cost around £550 which isn't too bad. Did you see the pictures of the mini show i went to. It was the first mini show i had ever been to and it was a really hot day. But it was great there were so many minis i have never seen so many in my life. There was a whole car park just for mini's there must of been about 200 to 300 hundred. I can't wait till this years one not long to go august 5th.
Good luck with practing those manuevers, im quite lucky cos i live along a farm road which is dead quiet and loads of space, so when they finally let me loose on the roads i've got a good place to practice. As i know what my co-ordination skills are like and my tendancy to stall. Neway must go to work and earn my money to buy some more bits for the mini. The next item i need is the other full length floor pan.
Hopefully i get my dad to do a bit more work on her this weekend maybe a bit of welding, hes not as good as the next door neighbour but he's picking stuff up as we go along. Have you got ne plans for the your mini latley. Forgot to ask you when you pass your test what will you be using your mini for. I'll use my mini to take me to work as by the time i learn to drive and pass my test and the mini is done i would have left college and hopefully got a job, what about you?

https://www.plminishop.com/index.php?page=2&cat_id=22
for the union jack roof decal on ebay the item number is 230139934403 so you can get an idea of prices etc. also if you wanted a centre console in you mini or a dashboard i used custom consoles who offer great quality stuff.
also when doing work on your mini do you use haynes manual as a guide i find it prettey good when im unsure of how to do a job on my mini.
